The start of the school year can be a challenge for many students. Getting up early, long hours, and learning new subjects can all be negative factors when starting a new school year. As a student, I have experienced all of these negative effects and the attitude that comes with it. Besides all the not-so-good attributes, students tend to forget about all the fun they can have during the school year.
With 169 days in the school year, there are many events, ball games, and activities that students can participate in, and enjoy. Throughout the year, when students attend any sporting event there is usually a student section and a theme. This is an entertaining way for students to dress up according to the theme while supporting their team. Students can also look forward to more formal events such as homecoming and prom, which allow students to come together and dance the night away.
Other than events, students can use school to socialize with new people and their friends. Many students, like myself, enjoy spending time with their friends. In the summer, hangouts could be limited, your schedules may not align, so you don’t always get to see your friends as much. Compared to during the school year, you can see your friends up to 5 days a week, which I think is amazing.
School does not have to be a negative place for students, we just have to show them the positive side of it. By doing this, we can get students excited for the year and ready for all the fun activities that will arise. What I mentioned are just a few ways students can enjoy themselves this school year and in the years to come. Having a positive attitude can help students have a better high school experience and enjoy the years they have left.
