Before the school year started, we were notified that the traffic route would be changing due to the construction work going on for the new school being built. For the first week of school we want to see what first impression it has made on the school’s staff, parents, and students. We interviewed one of the school’s bus drivers, Linda Miller.
Q:How do you feel about the new traffic situation as a bus driver?
A: “The first day it was slow moving out, now it’s getting better. The sheriff’s department is doing a good job with the traffic”
Q: Is it ethical?
A: “ Yeah ”
Q:Does the traffic situation make driving more difficult for you, if so how?
A: “ No, it isn’t, it is running smoothly now.”
Linda stated during the interview “Change is always hard at first, but we all have to try to get used to it.”
The new traffic caused some confusion among the parents at first, but with the past few days they have been adjusting. With the traffic, some disadvantages occurred, such as schedules being changed as well as routes onto campus. With so much traffic, it initially caused some of the students to be late. The first couple of days, vehicles for drop off and pick up were almost backed into town. Luckily, routines are getting settled and the morning and afternoon rushes are getting easier to navigate.
