Mrs. Gabby likes a lot of the different math topics she teaches, but if she had to pick her favorite, she said it would have to be solving equations. When asked why, Mrs. Gabby replied with, “Anybody can solve equations, since they’re sequential, even if you’re not good at math.” When asked what her favorite part of her job is, she replied with how much she enjoys seeing students be successful, especially when they thought they couldn’t do something.
Some of Mrs. Gabby’s hobbies are being outside and going to the lake in the summer. When it’s cold out she enjoys staying in and playing games and solving puzzles. She also likes hanging out with family and friends. When she has free time, she spends it by doing her hobbies, but mostly spending time with family. Something else Mrs. Gabby does is go to a lot of ball games. Traveling is also something she enjoys doing.
When asked who inspires her, she said anyone who is a hard worker, and overcomes obstacles. Some facts about Mrs. Gabby are that she has 2 dogs, 3 step children, and a baby on the way! She graduated from Murphy High School, which later on led to her going to Western! Mrs. Gabby likes to go camping, but she said something she really does enjoy is attending parades, especially participating in them. Something Mrs. Gabby does hate though, is frogs! One of Mrs. Gabby’s students and participants in SWARM club, Hannah Woodard, was asked, what makes Mrs. Gabby, a great and impactful teacher, she replied with, “Mrs. Gabby is both great and impactful because she is always willing to answer any questions or difficulties students are having with something, and always keeps an open mind. She is a very sweet teacher, that I even see as my friend. Her helping me in math has made math go better for me this year! She has made me like math more than I ever have before, she’s made it so fun and made topics understandable!”
