Mrs. Payne is our 10th grade Civics teacher. She’s been teaching for around 27 years, becoming a teacher due to the fact that teaching runs in her family. When asked what her favorite part of teaching is, she says “My favorite part of teaching is getting to know my students.”
“I love to teach Civics because I think many students actually want to learn about government. Civics is relevant. I think students have more interest in what directly impacts them and Civics shows students how the government is a factor in all aspects of their lives. Civics teaches students how to participate in government and how to bring about change.”
Students say she’s a wonderful teacher, that she’s “Well educated, fabulous, and a great role model.” Many students and staff love her, and she’s a wonderful aspect to our school.
