Welcoming our new School Resource Officer! Kyle Lickteig, we are so thrilled to have you join our school staff and letting us get to know you. Our SRO officers are very important to the school by keeping us safe and, of course, always giving us a good laugh or even an ear when we need them. With this they play a critical role within the student body. We interviewed Lickteig and here were some of his responses.
Q: How has your experience at Hayesville school been as a SRO Officer?
A: “It’s been good, really good!”
Q: How long have you been a SRO Officer?
A: “I’ve been the School Resource Officer for well, a week before school started.”
Q: Have you ever worked at any other schools?
A: “Nope, this is my first time working in schools.”
Q: Why did you choose our school to come work at?
A: “ Well I’ve worked for Clay county going on almost 5 years now, and I grew up here and graduated here from Hayesville so it all works out together.”
Q: What are some challenges you have faced so far?
A: “Learning names. There’s a lot of students and teachers. Learning names is a hard one.”
Q: What has been the best part of your job so far?
A: “For me, a lot less stress and getting to know you guys, which is a big part of my job and being the image of law enforcement.”
Even though he just recently joined us in our school, it’s our pleasure to say that he’s already becoming a very crucial part of our school staff !
