When Briley Clampitt heard her name announced for Homecoming Court, she was both shocked and excited. “I would’ve never thought I’d be on Homecoming Court, it’s such an honor.” Briley says. For her, being nominated means more than just a title, it represents a journey through high school, “I feel like I’ve accomplished what I was meant to do in high school, not just by being on the court, but by being nice to people and being a role model.” To her, it represents a personal accomplishment in high school.
Homecoming is an event that brings the whole school together, creating excitement and encouraging people to participate and support each other. The moment Briley looks forward to the most is getting ready and seeing herself in her dress, embracing the special feeling that comes with the event. She is also very excited for spirit week, she enjoys participating and going all out, and especially showing school spirit. We asked her what message she would give to younger students who might want to be on homecoming court some day. She said, “Treat people with kindness, don’t think you are better than anybody, be humble, your kindness and your work will always pay off.”
Throughout this process, her biggest supporters have been her friends, who have been encouraging and excited to see her on the court. Her family has also been very supportive, with her mom looking forward to helping with hair and makeup. Briley’s family from Towns County will be coming to watch her as well, they are all so excited to see her!! Above all, she is grateful for the support and influence of her friends, they have played a significant role in her journey for homecoming court.
