As a Journalism Student at Hayesville High School. I have a passion for photography. In photography, you can capture any moment and make it special whether it’s a big moment or a little thing. Journalism has a weekly Photo Contest and the HHS Staff and Faculty vote for their favorite photo. Something that I always find myself doing is using a mono-tone filter. I think it helps the viewer find beauty in the picture without the color. To learn more about photography I decided to talk with Sierra Hayes Photography.
Sierra Hayes Photography is run by Sierra Hayes herself, established in 2020. Sierra is a portrait photographer specializing in weddings, destinations, and elopements; she is located between the North Georgia Mountains and Hayesville, NC. She has a willingness to explore new destinations. “I love to travel and I’m always ready to hop on a plane,” mentioned Sierra. She is scheduled to do more weddings across the country. “I’ve always been interested in photography, but I wasn’t sure if it would be feasible in our area”. “Making others feel beautiful and comfortable in their own skin is important to me so don’t be surprised if I get overly excited about how good your photos are going to look.” Sierra believes in giving back to the community. Sierra’s favorite part about being a photographer is meeting new people.
Over the years Sierra Hayes Photography has evolved from Sierra’s humble roots. Sierra now trying new things and as a result, her content becoming as popular as it is now. Sierra calls the positive feedback and her busy schedule a blessing. With that being said, Sierra, a mother of 3 has to find the balance between “Mom Life” and “Work Life. She sets boundaries for each element of her life and keeps the balance. “I end up in a happy medium,” stated Sierra.
While running Sierra Hayes Photography and being a mother, Sierra has collaborated with Stephenie from Satin + Sage and started Willow & Scout for weddings and events; this allows clients to be able to have two different editing styles and more creative opportunities including double the amount of photos. Sierra’s favorite sessions are wedding and couple sessions. “I think that whenever you are able to capture that authentic relationship between two people, especially in such an exciting part of their life it can really show through your photos,” Sierra expressed. A popular session in our area is family photography but Sierra would love to do a grandparent session, a session of them doing everyday things that sparks a memory for their grandchildren.
Sierra Hayes Photography is a superb photography company with a beautiful smile behind the camera. She makes her clients feel very comfortable and gorgeous in front of the camera.
