The Be Pro Be Proud trucking company started in Arkansas in 2016. The company aims to change perceptions of skilled professions and encourage students to consider technical careers as a first choice. The program has expanded to other states, including North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and New Mexico. The company has had 2,916 tour stops and has been to 1,524 cities/towns. The kids that go to the truck like that they can express excitement and find it a valuable way to explore potential career paths and gain hands-on experience. The truck driving simulator was most people’s favorite at Hayesville High School. Many students believe if they do not go to four year college there is no hope of making a good living. It also helps students who are more at risk to stay in school because seeing the truck renews the hope of doing something with their lives even without a traditional four year degree.
