Congratulations to HHS CTE teacher Mrs. Bobbie Jones on her recent designation as the 2020-2021 Clay County Schools Teacher of the Year.  Jones, a business teacher at HHS, moved into the Clay Co. Schools’ system eight years ago from the Piedmont region of N.C.  As someone who transitioned into education from the business world, Mrs. Jones brings career experience from a variety of former jobs, including accounting.  Mrs. Jones recently resurrected the school’s FBLA program and encouraged students to participate in statewide contests, resulting in two of her students competing and eventually ranking in the top 15 nationally.  In her free time, Jones enjoys gardening, fishing, and traveling with her husband Danny (also a retired teacher).  Looking ahead to the regional competition for Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Jones confides that she is excited to represent Clay County and her peers, several of whom have won regional awards in the past.
