Elizabeth Beck, current Senior Design Editor for the 2021 HHS yearbook, discovered last spring that one of her photos won “Honorable Mention” in the national Jostens 2020 photo contest.  Beck’s photo, “Yearbie Life,” featured fellow 2020 staff members Paige Elrod and Bianca Howell as they straightened a sign advertising yearbook sales.  Jostens received almost 5,000 entries and awarded only 108 photos with special recognition and publication in the upcoming 2021 Look Book, a national publication showcasing the best yearbook photos and designs each year.  The contest, organized into specific categories, encourages students across the nation to strive for photographic excellence while also retaining the story-telling quality that promotes photojournalism.  Although the 2021 Look Book will not be distributed until spring 2021, grab a first look at the winners here https://issuu.com/jostens/docs/2020_jostens_us_photo_contest
