Art teacher Mrs. Ellen Engelmann recently shared with us her latest project completed by her Honors Art students last semester.
Take a moment to read her introduction, and then make sure to click the link to view the outstanding creativity of her students.
Mrs. Engelmann:  2020 was a year like no other.  It changed our lives completely and shifted the climate of our perception of life as we had known it.  Teaching in this atmosphere presented not only trials but opportunities.  I found myself wanting a way for the art students in my Honors Class to feel as though they had a voice and a chance to visually express the thoughts and feelings within them.
Thanks to our Gear Up program, run by Mary Cothren, we have access to Book Creator, a program in which a virtual book can be made and published online.  This program offered an opportunity to present the artwork and ideas of my brilliant students and share them with the world.
Please take a moment to read our Hayesville High School Honors Art Fall of 2020 eBook.  Students in this Honors Art Class were asked to examine social-emotional and human struggles both home and abroad and highlight through their artwork these trials and circumstances of human life.
Students worked on their art from home and from school.  They were asked to create their own book which we have combined into one to create our Fall of 2020 Honors Art eBook.
Thank you and join me in celebrating the talent of these Clay County Students!
