Hayesville may be a small quaint town, but that does not mean some delicious food options aren’t available. Whether you want coffee, a patty melt bagel sandwich, or Mexican street corn grits, Hayesville has some of the best places to eat.
To start the morning right, the recommended coffee shop would be Better Together Coffee Underground. They make some of the best if you want a classic locally roasted coffee, vanilla frappe, or iced coffee. There is a large selection of coffees and teas including pastries and mini donuts. They also have lemonades, and you can get boba in if you want a more refreshing beverage. The coffee shop itself has a cozy feel with great service. They have a broad range of flavors from sweet to savory pastries to refreshing and warm drinks.
“They have unique decor; also I would recommend the lemonade boba,” senior Kylie Carter stated.
Scrumptious lunch food and sandwiches are the best at Epic Catering and Eatery. With lots of options and broad flavors, many locals enjoy this restaurant. This restaurant has unique bagels, sandwiches, wraps, and salads for everyone. For the people wanting something filling the mashed potato sandwich, patty melt bagel sandwich, and the seared salmon are good options. Or if you prefer a lighter lunch Epic Catering and Eatery offers items like the hummus and falafel wrap, autumn leaves salad, and Garden Benedict. The restaurant itself has a bright and modern feel. There is outdoor seating and of course the catering service. “The Epic Reuben bagel is delicious and I like their homemade chips,” Mr. Hensley commented.
Dinnertime can be stressful to decide; my number one suggestion would be Nocturnal with rich and filling items like the Noc Cheesesteak, Teriyaki Rice Bowl, and the Smash Burger. Also, there are vegetarian items like fried tofu tacos with cilantro-lime slaw. The appetizers are exquisite with fried buffalo cauliflower, wings, or Mexican street corn grits. Also, a recent addition to the menu has been the gourmet pizzas. Mrs. Beck recommends her favorite pizza, the Full Moon.
Once it’s time for dessert there are a variety of choices. A few of the best are the raspberry sorbet, an ice cream float, and the cookie skillet. Nocturnal’s location is right in town with a beautiful view of the mountains. With outdoor seating and a modern wooden interior, this is a perfect place for dinner. Senior Thomas Wilson (Nocturnal employee) said “I would suggest getting the rice bowls.”
