Make the Most of Your Summer Break

The school year is coming to an end, and summer break is approaching. That means the plans you have long awaited are drawing near. You might be a student going on vacation or just staying home, but one thing is for sure, it’s going to be amazing!

Multiple students are heading to the beach this summer, or a different vacationing spot. Freshman Raelynn Wood is traveling to Wisconsin with her grandpa for a fly-in. Not only that but she is also going to the beach with her family and her friend Skylar Lockaby. “I’m so excited for this summer!” exclaimed Raelynn.

I am also going places this summer. I will be traveling to Pigeon Forge and going to Dollywood. I am excited to spend most of my summer there. Dollywood is my happy place. The environment, food, and roller coasters make me feel cheerful. Other than Dollywood, I also will be attending a basketball summer camp and staying around Hayesville.

You can do many things even if you plan on staying around Hayesville this summer. Usually in the summer, many sports have a summer camp for athletes to improve their skills. Sophomore Leeanna Alberta is attending the summer basketball camp, “I am so excited for camp this year. I can’t wait to play basketball!” Leeanna said. Besides summer camps other options are swimming, hiking, staying at home, or getting a job like Braedon Garrett. Freshman Braedon Garrett has been working at The Tech Guys for months and plans to continue working there in the summer. “Getting a job and working has been a great experience. I get to have a feel of the real world, and I also get a paycheck,” mentioned Braedon.

This summer is going to be very enjoyable. If you are traveling, or staying home, have the time of your life. Make sure to make the most of your summer break because it only lasts so long. You can check the school’s website https://www.clayschools.org/ to see when school starts back. Spoiler alert it’s in August. But basically what I am saying is to enjoy it while you can, no matter how you are spending it.
